First of all, I recommend you start the process of looking for a wedding venue as quickly as possible. Ideally, you start at least a year before your planned wedding date.

Why start your search so early?

Berlin wedding venues are popular and book up relatively quickly. Especially wedding dates in the spring/summer (from May to September) are in high demand.
In order to secure a reservation for your desired date and venue, give yourself plenty of time to find the right location.
If you do not have a preferred venue already in mind, here is how you could approach your search.

Some of the key factors to consider when choosing the right wedding venue in and around Berlin are:

Preliminary Headcount

It makes sense to start with creating a preliminary guest list before you start looking at wedding venues.
It can be useful to have a minimum number of guests who you absolutely want to invite, no matter what. In addition to your ideal number, add a small buffer for the maximum number of guests that you do not want to exceed. Once you have figured out your approximate headcount, you can narrow down your venue search to those places that are able to accommodate the size of your wedding party.

Wedding Venue Atmosphere and Style

You could then think about the “feel” of your ideal wedding venue: Are you looking for a classic wedding venue or see yourself at an intimate gathering at a local restaurant, or even envision yourself celebrating on one of Berlin’s castle grounds? Maybe a more modern, trendy venue such as a ballroom in a hotel is more for you? The answer to that question about the style or feel of your dream venue should help narrow down the list of available locations in Berlin.

Seating and Dinner Options

Another aspect you might want to consider is whether the venue has indoor / outdoor (or both) seating available, especially considering the season that your wedding falls into. Furthermore, knowing what kind of food you want to serve at your wedding might also help you find the right venue. That is because some of the wedding venues in Berlin cannot accommodate a seated dinner but instead offer buffet-style dining options.

Ballhaus Wedding Wedding The beautifully furnished Ballhaus Wedding takes you back to a splendidly romantic time. The location contains a ballroom and other function rooms (e.g. for younger guests). It has a maximum capacity of 135 guests seated and up to 250 guests for a standing reception.
Hallesches Haus Kreuzberg Hallesches Haus used to house the post office 61 and nowadays impresses with high ceilings, vaulted arches and a private garden directly on the Landwehr Canal in Kreuzberg. The Hallesches Haus wedding package includes e.g. drinks, catering services and they can provide you with a music system.
Löwenpalais Grunewald The Villa Löwenpalais is not far from Kudamm and can be booked for your wedding celebration with several function rooms and an illuminated terrace. The Löwenpalais has a capacity of up to 170 people for a sit-down meal.

The Grand Mitte In the historic building of The Grand, you will find an event space for your wedding celebration spread over several floors. Gästehaus Blumenfisch am Wannsee Zehlendorf You can plan your wedding reception at the Blumenfisch guest house on the Wannsee shore. The guest house has enough space for 86 people if you opt for a banquet format, and up to 40 people can be invited for a seated dinner. Check out the venue's website for more information.
Villa Schützenhof Spandau Plan your magnificent wedding celebration at the Villa Schützenhof.
