Wedding Date

Before anything else, you will have to set a date for your wedding. You might go into planning your wedding with a preferred wedding date already in mind. If that’s not the case, here are some ideas about how to choose your wedding date:
- It makes sense, to consider personal circumstances (Such as: Are you starting a new job and need to dedicate time to that first? Maybe you need more time to save up money for the wedding? Or a relative has a surgery planned…)
- You can also decide which season you want your wedding date to fall into and then go from there and check on the availability of your chosen venue
- Many choose a date that has personal significance to them (an anniversary, a relative’s birthdate, graduation day, etc.)
- Some choose a wedding date they can easily remember, like for example the 5th of May 2025 (05.05.25)
Keep in mind that venues charge more for hosting weddings during certain months (usually May-Sep) and days of the week (Sat / Sun).
Superstitions: Best and Worst Days to get married
- According to English folklore, getting married on a Monday brings good health, while a wedding on a Tuesday ensures wealth.
- If you follow Russian superstitions, do not get married in May.
- In Asian cultures, the number eight is the luckiest number because the pronunciation of the word resembles that of the word “prosper”, hence dates with an eight are very lucky; especially August 8th.
Contrary, the months of March, July and September are to be avoided for a wedding because festivals related to death are celebrated in them - According to Irish beliefs, New Year’s Eve is the luckiest day to get married.
